Yorkton RCMP have hauled in over 227 thousand illegal cigarettes after a four-month investigation. No less than six search warrants were executed in Pelly and Hyas Saskatchewan on January 2nd. Officers also seized 25 pounds of loose-leaf tobacco and about $18 hundred cash. RCMP say the tobacco was being sold out of a business in Pelly. 71 year old Brian Clough, 25 year old Brittany Clough, and 25 year old Andrew Popoff, all of Pelly, are facing charges including Importation of Tobacco without a Required Notice, and Sale, Possession, Storage or Transportation of Tobacco that is not Marked in the Prescribed Manner. They are to appear in Kamsack Provincial Court on February 11th.
