January’s SGI traffic safety spotlight shone on impaired drivers, with 284 people getting caught.
Spokesman Tyler McMurchy also says police nabbed a lot of motorists for speeding and aggressive driving:
5,563 tickets related to speeding or aggressive driving. There were another 428 tickets related to seat belts and car seats.
He also says the number of distracted driving tickets continues a downward trend, with 509 handed out.
