Rattlers Sign American Miller Just Before C-E-B-L Summer Series Tournament

It’s less than two weeks until Canadian Elite Basketball League teams gather for training camps in advance of the Summer Series tournament…and the defending champions are still signing players.

The Saskatchewan Rattlers inked guard-forward Malcolm Miller today. The Texas product and Southern University grad has played professionally around the world since 2014 and is said to be a two-way player. The Rattlers and the other six C-E-B-L teams will begin the Summer Series on July 25th in St. Catharines, Ontario. Following is the official release from the Rattlers…..

 

TWO-WAY SCORING THREAT JOINS THE RATTLERS

 

The Saskatchewan Rattlers are excited to announce the signing of American guard/forward Malcolm Miller to its roster.

Miller, a Midland, TX-product has played professionally around the world since 2014. In 2016-17, Miller appeared in 22 games for the Maine Red Claws of the NBA G League. Over the course of his professional career, Miller has averaged 14.0 points, 5.3 rebounds and 1.9 assists. A two-way player, Miller takes pride not only in his offensive game but also in shutting down opponents’ best wing player. Miller is adept at shooting from three, making mid-range shots, driving the paint and collecting his fair share of rebounds on both sides of the court.

Prior to turning professional, Miller spent the last two years of his collegiate career playing for Southern University – an NCAA Division 1program in Baton Rouge, LA. During his two years with the program, Miller averaged 14.2 points, 5.6 rebounds and 1.1 assists. His impressive collegiate accolades led to Miller being named to the Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) First Team All-Conference in 2013 and 2014, the SWAC All-Tournament Team in 2013 and was the SWAC Newcomer of the Year in 2013.

“Malcolm is an extremely versatile player that can play multiple positions on the floor”, said Rattlers GM Barry Rawlyk. “Malcolm can play on the wing as well as play the 4 position when necessary. This versatility will be paramount over the course of the CEBL Summer Series. His athleticism will be a big asset to the team. We are excited to welcome Malcolm to the team.”
