Construction Investment in Saskatchewan Was Low in August

Statistics Canada says investment in non-residential construction fell 4.3 per cent in Saskatchewan in August. Seven provinces were on the downside. The national average was a drop of 1.2 per cent. The total investment in the province was $94.1 million.

On the residential side, investment here was up 1. 7 per cent. That was on the low side for provinces but definitely not the worst showing; that honour went to Prince Edward Island which was the only province in negative territory with a decline of 5.9 per cent. The national average was a rise of 8.2 per cent. Total investment in Saskatchewan was $160.4 million.
