Correctional Services says that on Wednesday, John Crawford, an inmate at the Regional Psychiatric Centre, died while in custody.
He had been serving a life sentence for First Degree Murder and two counts of Second Degree Murder since May 30, 1996.
His next of kin have been notified.
As in all cases involving the death of an inmate, Correctional Service Canada will review the circumstances. The police and the coroner have been notified.
