There were some big tickets handed out this past weekend to Saskatoon drivers. First the Saskatoon Police’s Traffic Unit pulled over a driver for doing 52 kilometres per hour in a 30 kilometre per hour school zone. Which is a $318 fine. However, police say the driver only had their learners license and was driving without a class five driver to supervise. Which earned them another $150 fine, along with having the vehicle seized for 30 days.
Then on Friday Afternoon a driver in a pickup truck was caught going 95 in the residential 50 kilometre per hour zone on Taylor between Kingsmere and McKercher. This came with a $742 fine and the driver was also issued a ticket for driving without reasonable consideration for others, which results in another $518 fine.
Finally the Saskatoon Police Traffic Unit pointed out that when a police cruiser passes a speeding vehicle, they will know that vehicle is doing 40 kilometres an hour over the speed limit. The driver was issued a $570 fine.
