If your travel is going to involve Highway 16 in the Saskatoon area over the next three days, be ready for some delays due to lane closures. The Ministry of Highways is conducting geotechnical inspections.
Wednesday’s inspections will involve moving closures of the Highway 16 westbound curb and median lanes, east and west of the Zimmerman Road intersection. Access to Zimmerman Road will be maintained, but the work is expected to go on the entire day, beginning at 8 a.m. Starting Thursday at 7 a.m., the Highway 16 eastbound and westbound curb and median lanes will have moving closures between the Circle Drive cloverleaf and Boychuk Drive. Access to and from Boychuk Drive will be maintaned for the day’s work. On Friday, starting at 7 a.m., there will be moving closures of the Highway 16 eastbound curb and median lanes between Boychuk Drive and Zimmerman Road. Access to and from Boychuk road will be maintained. Saskatoon Transit may be affected by detours and the project should take three days, weather permitting and barring any unforeseen circumstances.
