Over the noon hour Sunday, Saskatoon Police were told that a white Chevrolet truck was driving erratically in the area of Highway 219 and Lorne Avenue. The vehicle was later involved in a collision at 3rd Avenue and 26th Street but fled prior to police arriving.
Police say they found the vehicle at a gas station in the 400 block of Circle Drive East where the driver allegedly tried to flee without paying for fuel. Police say he resisted arrest and physically assaulted a patrol officer. He was eventually taken into custody when additional officers responded.
The 34-year-old is charged with Possession of Stolen Property Over $5000, Assault a Police Officer, Dangerous Driving, 2 counts of Fail to Stop After an Accident, and Theft.
