To say this was unusual is a bit of an understatement. Last Friday, Clinton, British Columbia RCMP were called to help free a trapped bird; and, not just any bird; and, not just any location. It was a large bird-of-prey trapped behind the front grill of a pickup truck.
The Williams Lake area woman behind the wheel was driving north, when the big bird suddenly emerged out of the ditch, took flight and somehow, got lodged behind the grill. Two of the officers were able to loosen the grill and the hawk flew off. It did not appear to be injured.
