A 17 year old boy appeared in court today (Thurs), facing sexual assault and child pornography charges. Saskatoon Police say the teen and a 23 year old man, Mohammad Kouman, are charged in connection to the same incident. The teen remains in custody and will appear in court again on June 30th. At a bail hearing on Tuesday morning, Kouman’s request for bail was denied.
His next court day is July 15th.
Police were told a 15 year old girl was picked up from her home around midnight on June 7th and taken to the riverbank where she was encouraged to drink alcohol. Then, it’s alleged she was sexually assaulted by two males and left there. She has since recovered from her physical injuries.
Investigators with the Saskatoon Police Service Child Centre believe there may be other girls or women who have been victimized in a similar way and are asking anyone with information to contact them or Crime Stoppers.
