The Government of Saskatchewan is not enforcing the self-isolation orders if you have COVID-19. That aspect of dealing with COVID-19 disappeared on July 11th along with all the other changes like not having to wear a mask in public. Health Minister Paul Merriman suggests the onus is on the individual to do the right thing.
In a statement issued Thursday Merriman says, “As with all communicable diseases, contact tracers from public health will follow up with anyone who tests positive for COVID-19 in order to conduct an investigation and provide counselling.”
The individual is directed to self-isolate for at least ten days. Merriman explains that if the person doesn’t comply, isolation requirements may be individually ordered by a Medical Health Officer and failure to comply can result in a $2800 fine.
