Charlie Clark is the winner in the latest challenge between Regina and Saskatoon Mayors. Earlier this month Mayor Clark did a lip sync to “The Last Saskatchewan Pirate” as a result of losing the vaccine challenge against Regina Mayor Sandra Masters. He issued a re-challenge, based on total doses rather than per capita. Now Mayor Masters will be the one performing a lip sync to “It Takes Two” by Rob Base and DJ EZ Rock. The lyrics “It takes two to make a thing go right” is a direct call for everyone to get 2 doses of the vaccine.
Contest and bragging rights aside, both Mayors still urge residents who are not vaccinated to do so. In Saskatoon 25.3% still need a first dose, and 34.3% need a second dose. In Regina 22.4% still need a first dose, and 31.5% need a second dose.
Final results of the July Re-Challenge are:
Saskatoon: 8,333 FIRST doses, 60,833 SECOND doses
Regina: 6,319 FIRST doses, 46,390 SECOND doses
