Just before 3 this afternoon (Tues), the Saskatoon Fire Department responded to a house fire at 123 Avenue E South. Emergency crews reported smoke coming out of the building.
The Fire Department says firefighters encountered heavy heat in the basement. SaskEnergy and Saskatoon Light & Power responded to the scene to disconnect the utilities. The Fire Department says the fire was knocked down by 3:25 p.m.
The cause of the fire remains undetermined. Damage is pegged at about $150 thousand. The fire began in a basement bedroom.
