Second Straight Day Without COVID-19-Related Deaths in Saskatchewan, Fewest Daily New Cases in Two Months

By Les Lazaruk Oct 25, 2021 | 1:47 PM

For the first time in almost two months, there were fewer than 200 new cases of COVID-19 recorded in the daily dashboard update from the Government of Saskatchewan website.

The number of tests performed Sunday was the fewest in about two months as well while there were no new novel coronavirus-related fatalities in the province for a second straight day. The latest update showed 170 new cases from 1,681 tests…the smallest numbers since August 26 and August 17, respectively. Saskatchewan’s total COVID-19-related deaths remain at 817. Add in 311 recoveries and the province’s active case count is down to 2,822. That number went below 3,000 in Saskatchewan in Sunday’s update for the first time since September 4. There are 293 virus patients in hospital, including 71 in an I-C-U. That figure doesn’t include nine I-C-U patients transferred to Ontario as of Sunday.
