The International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers says 750 signal and communications employees have walked off the job at C-N Rail across the country.
The union confirms the legal strike began Saturday.
In a statement issued by CN the rail company says it has implemented an “operational contingency plan” which will ensure they can safely continue a level of normal operations.
CN says the sticking points in negotiations are primarily wages and benefits.
