The two Universities will go head-to-head in eleven women’s and men’s sports to determine the winner of the inaugural U-Prairie Challenge.

The annual points-based competition is designed to generate greater support for student athletes and varsity sports overall.

The 2022-23 U-Prairie Challenge begins with a women’s soccer match in Saskatoon on September 2nd.

The official kickoff for the varsity competition will be held in conjunction with the Huskies/Rams football game on September 17th in Regina. There will be a tailgate party outside of Mosaic Stadium along with other activities to enhance the fan experience.

The U-Prairie Challenge season series will culminate in Saskatoon where a winner will be crowned after the Huskies host the Cougars in men’s hockey at Merlis Belsher Place in early 2023.

The kickoff and final events will alternate between the two cities on an annual basis.
