Latest Blades’ Player Signing Tastad Brings Size and Local Flavour to Blue and Gold

Size and local – something Saskatoon hockey fans crave to see in Blue and Gold – are a big part of the latest Saskatoon Blades’ player signing.

Sixteen-year-old defenceman Morgan Tastad inked a W-H-L Standard Player Agreement Monday. The Loreburn product is a 6’4″, 174-pound left-hand shot, drafted in the ninth round of the 2021 Prospects Draft. Tastad played last season with the Saskatoon Contacts, recording two goals amongst 10 points in 43 Saskatchewan Male Under-18 Triple-A League games. Following is the news release from the Blades…..

Blades Sign 2006-Born Prospect Tastad

Saskatoon, SK — The Saskatoon Blades are pleased to announce the signing of 2006-born defenseman, Morgan Tastad, to a WHL Standard Player Agreement. Tastad was selected in the ninth round by the Blades in the 2021 WHL Prospects Draft.

The 6’4 left shooting defender from Loreburn, SK, spent last season with the Saskatoon Contacts U18 AAA in the SMAAAHL where he collected 10 points (2G-8A) in 43 games.

The Saskatoon Blades are thrilled to welcome Morgan and his family to the organization.
