A busy Wednesday for Saskatchewan Rush general manager Derek Keenan.
First, Jordi Jones-Smith’s time with Saskatchewan came to an end Wednesday. The Rush dealt the right shot transition player to the New York Riptide for a second round pick in the 2023 N-L-L Draft. In 38 games over the last three seasons with Saskatchewan, the Whitby, Ontario, product had 41 loose balls and nine turnovers.
Then, Saskatchewan announced the signing of 2022 Draft pick Cameron Badour to a two-year contract. The Rush selected the 6’4″ forward with the 49th overall pick in the latest N-L-L Draft. Rush Strike a Deal with Riptide
“Real tough parting ways with a quality player and person like Jordi,” says general manager Derek Keenan. “I’ve known Jordi since he was 8 years old and you won’t find a player with a better attitude. We just felt on the backend we need one or two of our younger guys to play. We thank Jordi for his efforts and commitment to the Rush organization.”
The right shot transition was drafted in the sixth round of the 2015 NLL Entry Draft by the New England Black Wolves and was later acquired by the Rush as a free agent in 2019. The Whitby, Ontario product has played a total of 38 games with the Rush, totalling 41 loose balls and 9 turnovers.

The Rush Sign 2022 Draft Pick Cameron Badour to 2-Year Deal
“We are looking forward to seeing Cam at camp,” says general manager Derek Keenan. “We like his size and athleticism”.
The Rush acquired Badour 49th overall in the 2022 NLL Entry Draft. The 6-foot-4 forward spent his past four seasons at Duke University. In 38 career games, The Ottawa, ON product notched 24 goals and 12 assists. Prior to University, Cameron played junior A with the St. Catharines Athletics and junior B with the Gloucester Griffins.
The Saskatchewan Rush are excited to welcome Cameron to the organization and look forward to having him continue to develop under Jimmy Quinlan’s coaching staff.
