Two unanswered third period goals allowed the Prince Albert Raiders to slip past the visiting Saskatoon Blades 4-3 Saturday night in W-H-L pre-season play.
Harrison Lodewyk broke a 3-3 tie with 4:10 remaining in the third period as P-A won for the second time over the Bridge City Bunch to start the exhibition schedule. The game rosters had more veteran players than the Wednesday 2-1 Raiders’ win at the Jim Neilson Sports Complex on the Big River First Nation. Prince Albert dressed 13 players who were W-H-L regulars last season with an average age of 17.85 years per player while the Blue and Gold has 12 players in uniform who were W-H-L regulars last season with an average age of 17.9 years per player. Niall Crocker scored two goals and Ryder Ritchie added another for the Raiders while Tyler Parr, Egor Sidorov and Charlie Wright responded for the Blades who held a 31-21 shots on goal advantage. Saskatoon’s next pre-season action is Wednesday when they visit the Regina Pats.
