The I-I-H-F World Under-20 Hockey Championship returns to action tomorrow, running through Friday in Gothenburg, Sweden. Team Canada is one of 10 nations taking part. They were split into two pools of five teams each for preliminary round-robin play, with the eight-team straight knock-out playoff beginning tomorrow. Team Canada finished preliminary play with 3 wins, 1 loss for 9 points…good for 2nd place in Pool A. Team Canada will play Czechia in one of four quarter-final games tomorrow at 7:30 a.m. Among the players on Team Canada’s roster are Saskatoon Blades’ centre Fraser Minten plus Saskatoon product and Moose Jaw Warriors’ centre Brayden Yager.

The Circle-K Classic Male Under-18 Hockey Tournament continues and winds up today in Calgary. There were 32 teams from around the world taking part. That has been reduced to eight going into today. None of the three teams from the Saskatchewan Male Under-18 Triple-A Hockey League qualified to play on the final day of the tournament.
