The Saskatoon Fire Department responded to a fire in the 600 block of University Drive early Saturday morning.
At 5:30 a.m. responding fire crews reported seeing flames as they crossed the bridge as they approached the scene. The first arriving fire crew reported a detached single car garage fully involved with a power line on fire.
Fire crews contained the fire to the garage and electrical power pole, and it was brought under control at 6:09 a.m. The cause of the fire is undetermined at this time; however, it has been determined that it originated on the exterior of the garage. Damages are estimated $35,000.
