A 42-year-old man has been arrested in connection to a vehicle theft outside of Regina General Hospital Tuesday night. Regina Police were told by the victims they were leaving the hospital just after 9 p.m. and were about to help a family member into the passenger seat when a man approached the driver’s side of the running vehicle, got in and drove off. He hit a parked vehicle and a construction fence on his way out of the parking lot.

Then, it was reported to police a vehicle matching the description of the stolen vehicle hit a curb and was hung up on a sidewalk a few blocks away. The vehicle was found heavily damaged, and the suspect had fled. Around 9:45 the suspect was found at a business on Saskatchewan Drive and was taken into custody. Angus Kaiswatum appeared in Regina Provincial Court this morning (Wed) charged with vehicle theft and failing to stop after an accident.
