Saskatchewan NDP calls for gas tax break ahead of summer travel

The Saskatchewan NDP continues to call for a gas tax break. Leader Carla Beck explains that the Sask Party government levies a 15 cent per litre tax on gas and diesel, and suspending the tax for six months would save families about $356.

She notes that Manitoba, Alberta, Ontario, and Newfoundland and Labrador have already done so at different times, and she adds that federal Conservative Leader Pierre Poilievre called for a pause in the gas tax last week. During the spring legislative session, the provincial government voted against gas tax relief.
