The federal and provincial governments have come together with an investment of $16 million towards newly-renovated affordable housing in Prince Albert for low-income families.

The tenants were officially welcomed to their new homes Thursday by representatives from the Prince Albert Housing Authority and the MLA for Prince Albert Northcote Alana Ross. A total of 63 social housing units, both two and three-bedroom sizes, were renovated in a building constructed in 1977 that improved energy efficiency, interior and exterior finishes, fixtures and landscaping. The $16 million in funding came from the National Housing Strategy and Canada Community Housing Initiative.
