Police have made an arrest after multiple fires were reported Thursday morning.

Just after 10:00 a.m. on Thursday police received a report of fence fire in the 100 block of 31st Street West. Police were also responding to other fire related calls at the time.

When officers arrived they spotted a man who matched a suspect description a few blocks away from where another fire was actively burning. The man was placed under arrest at the scene.

A 31-year-old man was charged with arson causing damage to property. The Saskatoon Police Service says the man also had a warrant for being unlawfully at large and was found to be breaching court-ordered conditions.

This arson is believed to be related to four other fires that took place in the area. Police continue to investigate and further charges could be laid.
