Saskatchewan has reached out to the U.S. offering support in fighting wildfires in California.

Tuesday, through a request for assistance from the Canadian Interagency Forest Fire Centre (CIFFC), the SPSA offered a Birddog aircraft, 3000 feet of hose and 10 firefighters to help fight the wildfires.

In a news release Corrections, Policing and Public Safety Minister Tim McLeod said, “In Saskatchewan, we know firsthand how devastating a fire can be, and offering our experienced members and equipment is exactly what being a good neighbour is all about.”

The SPSA is waiting for a response from CIFFC regarding next steps in deploying these resources.
