Determined Blades Answer the Call of the Wild

The three-game winless skid is done for the Saskatoon Blades after they doubled the Wenatchee Wild 4-2 Friday night.

Hunter Laing opened the scoring for the Bridge City Bunch and Cooper Williams put the Blue and Gold ahead for good before the end of the first period. Tyler Parr and Rowan Calvert extended the lead through 40 minutes as the Blades improved their record to 24-16-6 for 54 points, pulling within two points of idle East Division-leading Prince Albert. Ethan McCallum (pictured) made 25 saves for his fourth straight win in goal for Saskatoon before 3,905 fans at SaskTel Centre. It was the 18-year-old Brandon product’s first appearance in three weeks. The Bridge City Bunch return to action Sunday when they welcome the Moose Jaw Warriors.
