Blades Fail to Start on Time in Return Home Loss to Warriors

By Les Lazaruk Nov 7, 2025 | 11:41 PM

It was back to a tough start for the Saskatoon Blades Friday night as they returned to SaskTel Centre, only to lose 6-5 to the Moose Jaw Warriors.

The visitors bolted out to a 4-0 lead just over two minutes into the second period, fuelled by three power play goals, before the Bridge City Bunch began a comeback that fell just short before over 36-hundred fans. First round Washington Capitals’ draft pick Lynden Lakovic paced Moose Jaw – now 9-8-1 for the season – with two goals, giving him a W-H-L-leading 16 for the season, plus an assist. His second goal, late in the second period, turned out to be the game-winner. The Blue and Gold got two goals from Cooper Williams with singles from Hunter Laing, Jordan Martin and David Lewandowski. Laing and Lewandowski added an assist while captain Tyler Parr and defenceman Tristen Doyle both chipped in a pair of helpers. It was the Blades’ first home game in 19 days and was their sixth loss in seven games since that October 19th, come-from-behind 4-3 triumph over Edmonton. The slow start was reminiscent of the first two games of Saskatoon’s U-S Division road trip, falling behind 3-0 at Everett and 5-0 in Portland. Now 10-7-2 for the season, the Bridge City Bunch is winless in their last four games – the first three of which saw the Blue and Gold fail to hold a third period lead. The Blades will try to put together a complete effort for 60 minutes on Saturday night when they host the Calgary Hitmen at 7 o’clock at SaskTel Centre. CJWW’s broadcast begins at 6:45. Following are the audio highlights from CJWW’s broadcast, Post-Game Show conversations with head coach Dan Da Silva and Parr plus the official game summary courtesy the W-H-L website…..
