Flu season has officially begun according to the province’s Respiratory Illness Report.

Over the past two weeks, influenza test positivity has increased beyond the five per cent threshold. Meanwhile COVID-19 activity is stable, and RSV activity is increasing but at low levels.

Influenza ICU admissions have increased; however, no deaths have been reported. No COVID-19 deaths were reported either. Approximately 12% of the population is vaccinated against COVID-19, and 17% against influenza.
