One employee at the Mosaic K3 Potash Mine near Esterhazy has died following a fall-of-ground incident.
The death occurred early Monday morning, which prompted action from Mosaic’s Emergency Response Team.
The site has been secured, and all mining activity has been temporarily halted while a full investigation takes place.
Support services are being provided through the company’s Employee and Family Assistance Program. In a statement, Mosaic says “The safety and wellbeing of our people remain Mosaic’s highest priority. Our thoughts go out to our colleague’s family and friends, all employees, and the broader community.”
