Saskatoon Police arrest man for cocaine following shoplifting call

A 40-year-old Edmonton man is facing several charges after he was arrested as part of Project Shield, the Saskatoon Police Service’s retail crime blitz.

At around 8:00 pm yesterday (Thursday), a man was apprehended by Loss Prevention Officers on the suspicion of shoplifting at a business in the 2300 Block of 8th Street East.

An investigation by police found that the man was in possession of stolen items, along with 3 grams of cocaine. After the man provided false information, he was dound to be wanted on a warrant of arrest in Edmonton.

The man is now facing charges of Theft Under $5000, Possession of Cocaine, Obstruction and Breach of Release Order.
