Two Melville residents die in Trans-Canada collision

Two people have died and STARS Air Ambulance was called in to take a man to hospital following a two-vehicle collision occurred on Highway #1, east of the White City overpass on Saturday.

At 8:15 a.m., White Butte RCMP received a report of collision in the eastbound lanes of the Trans-Canada Highway.

RCMP say investigation determined a pick-up truck and car collided. Both passengers of the car, a 39-year-old female and 44-year-old male from Melville, were declared dead by EMS at the scene.

The driver of the truck was taken to hospital by STARS with non-life-threatening injuries, and the passenger of the truck was taken to hospital by EMS with similar injuries.

White Butte RCMP continue to investigate with the assistance of a Saskatchewan RCMP collision reconstructionist.
