After a male in North Battleford told RCMP that a suspect with a firearm had demanded their cell phone and wallet on Saturday morning, police decided to use the phone’s technology to track it down.
Officers used a GPS service and determined the stolen phone was just outside a business on the Highway #16 Bypass in North Battleford. So, they dialed the stolen phone’s number and heard it ringing, promptly arresting the person in possession of the phone.
Police searched a room in the business and seized a sawed-off firearm, ammunition and a baton.
Twenty-three-year-old Keshawn Henderson of North Battleford was in court Monday to face a total of 11 charges including numerous weapons related charges, break and enter with intent and possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000.
