Search Warrant Leads Regina Police to Issue Numerous Weapons Charges

Two men are facing numerous weapons related charges after a search warrant was executed by Regina Police on Saturday.

At approximately 1:00am, the Regina Police Service Street Gang Unit along with members of the Community Service Division conducted an investigation in regards to several firearm related offences. A search warrant was executed in the 600 block of Montague Street which resulted in the discovery of a firearm and ammunition. Two men were arrested and taken into custody.

Thirty-seven year old Marcel Joseph Pelletier was charged with the following offences:

  • Careless Storage of a Firearm
  • Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose
  • Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm
  • Possession of Prohibited Firearm with Ammunition
  • Possession of a Weapon Obtained by Commission of Offence
  • Possession of a Weapon Contrary to Prohibition Order x 4

Twenty-five year old Kashtin Reuben Thorne was also arrested and charged with the following:

  • Careless Storage of a Firearm
  • Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose
  • Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm
  • Possession of Prohibited Firearm with Ammunition
  • Possession of a Weapon Obtained by Commission of Offence
  • Possession of a Weapon Contrary to Prohibition Order x 2
  • Fail to Comply with Conditions of a Release Order
  • Fail to Comply with Probation Order

The accused are scheduled to make their first court appearance at Regina Provincial Court on Monday at 9:30am.
