Metis Nation – Saskatchewan has partnered with the Saskatchewan Health Authority for a special pop-up COVID-19 vaccination clinic, which continues through Saturday, by appointment only.
Beginning with the eldest MN-S citizens in Saskatoon and continuing through younger years, those who are 50 and older were offered an appointment if they hadn’t already received a vaccination.
A news release from the MN-S says interest was so high that all available times were booked quickly.
A Metis Elder opened the clinic with a traditional prayer. The MN-S Government has been establishing partnerships with other Indigenous governments to provide access to vaccines, including the Regina Urban Indigenous Vaccine Clinic and the Central Saskatchewan Indigenous Vaccination sites in Saskatoon, North Battleford and Prince Albert.
