The International CCS Knowledge Centre in Regina is engaged in a pre-feasibility study exploring the potential application of carbon dioxide capture on 750-megawatt coal-fired power plants. This is part of a broad study examining the viability of a regional commercial-scale geologic CO2 storage hub in the Southeastern U.S.
The International CCS Knowledge Centre is collaborating with a team on the U.S. Department of Energy funded project to develop the conceptual designs and capital cost estimates evaluating the installation of post combustion carbon dioxide (CO2) capture on a Southern Company electrical generating station.
