A fire in the Wildwood neighbourhood has resulted in $20,000 of damages to a Saskatoon home.
On Thursday at 12:16 p.m., the Saskatoon Fire Department received a call for a kitchen fire in the 200 block of Tait Crescent. First arriving fire crews reported a kitchen fire in a unit at the property. At 12:30 p.m., the fire was brought under control. Ventilation was performed to remove smoke and carbon monoxide from the building. Fire crews checked the walls for fire extension.
A fire investigator concluded that the cause of the fire was accidental from cooking that was left unattended for a few minutes and the fire originated on top of the stove.
No injuries to civilians or fire personnel occurred as a result of this fire.
