After taking ideas and suggestions from across the country, the town of Indian Head along with a volunteer committee has decided on how they will honor the memory of Constable Shelby Patton.
The town will develop a park in Patton’s name, with construction likely to begin next spring.
Facility Operations Manager Mackenzie Craigie says Shelby’s wife and co-workers are on the committee.
Craigie and the Mayor of Indian Head Steven Cole along with other community volunteers are also a part of the committee.
Constable Patton was tragically killed in the line of duty on June 12 after responding to a report of a stolen vehicle.
