A 25 year-old man who had been unlawfully at large from a minimum-security unit at the Saskatchewan Penitentiary since Saturday night around 10 p.m. has been apprehended by Prince Albert Police.
According to a news release from the Correctional Service of Canada, police arrested Duran Laplante around 2:30 Sunday morning. The Correctional Service of Canada will now conduct an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident.
Laplante is serving a sentence of three years and three months for manslaughter.
