Safety Loucheiz Purifoy says he should have walked away from an incident at a Regina restaurant on Sunday following the West semi-final.
He was detained for the night and released without charge. Purifoy said he raised his voice with a waitress about the long wait for his food. Meanwhile, there was another disturbance happening at the same time involved Purifoy’s friends, that he says he had nothing to do with. Purifoy said a friend was charged after the incidents. A Regina Leader-Post newspaper report has a 31-year-old woman charged with common assault. Purifoy and Riders head coach Craig Dickenson said they wanted to get ahead of the situation today so it didn’t become a distraction later in the week as the team is prepping for the West Final on Sunday in Winnipeg.

Yesterday, the Saskatchewan Roughriders were made aware that Loucheiz Purifoy was with a party that created a disturbance at a local restaurant Sunday evening. The Club has looked into this matter and while the police were called to the establishment, Purifoy has not been charged with any wrongdoing related to the incident.
The Club will make no further comment on this matter.
