Olympic gold earns Emily Clark February Athlete of the Month
(SASKATOON) March 7, 2022 — After capturing a gold medal with the Canadian women’s hockey team at the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics on Feb.17, Saskatoon forward Emily Clark has been named the Sask Sport Athlete of the Month for February.

Clark and the Canadians won the gold in a thrilling 3-2 victory over rival the United States. At the Games, Clark played an important role on Team Canada’s third line and was a member of the “power kill” (penalty kill). She finished the Olympic tournament with two goals and one assist.

To prepare for the Olympics and avoid travel challenges related to the COVID-19 pandemic, Clark isolated with Team Canada leading into the Games. Earlier in the year, she won the Women’s World Championship with Team Canada.

Clark was nominated by her former team, the Saskatoon U18 AAA Stars, and supported by Hockey Saskatchewan.
