The Saskatchewan city named after a member of royalty is giving its residents a chance to share messages for a beloved member of Great Britain’s Royal Family.
A book of condolences is now available for residents to sign at Prince Albert City Hall, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. The book will be available until sunset on Monday, September 19 – the day Queen Elizabeth the Second’s funeral is held. In addition, in her honour, flags at City facilities have been lowered to half-mast. In 1866, founder James Nisbet settled down and gave the city its name after Albert, Prince Consort and husband of Queen Victoria. Those unable to attend the in-person signings can submit a digital message through the Government of Canada website.
