Pierceland RCMP say a suspect in an investigation involving a robbery and discharge of a gun has been arrested in Alberta.
RCMP say on the evening of October 11th, individuals approached a rural property east of Pierceland, then stole a black Dodge 3500 dually truck with an attached empty livestock trailer.
Two people saw the theft and followed the truck which was westbound on Highway #55 which is when the thieves allegedly shot a gun at the witness and hit their vehicle. One of the good Samaritans was treated in hospital for a non-life threatening injury.
Both the truck and trailer were recovered in Alberta and now Marina Dawn Smith, 33-years-old, is facing multiple weapons charges as well as robbery with a firearm and aggravated assault.
While the investigation is still ongoing, Smith is currently in custody in Alberta and is scheduled to appear in court at a later date on these charges.
