Off duty officer on hand during incident in Prince Albert

At approximately 5:30 p.m., Tuesday evening Prince Albert Police were dispatched to a report of a man attempting to break into a home in the 500 Block of 22nd Street East.

While en route to this call for service, police were then made aware that an off-duty officer had been confronted by a man with a knife outside a nearby business and that person matched the description of the suspect in the initial call.

The off-duty member and was able to pull another man and a young child inside the business and block the door before the suspect fled.  o one was hurt.

Officers responded to the area and located a suspect who was arrested after a short foot pursuit.

Wallace Hunt, 29-years-old, from the Little Red River First Nation, is facing several charges including, assault with a weapon, possession of a dangerous weapon, and assaulting a peace officer.
