Four people have been charged after two stabbing incidents on Tuesday.

The first call came in at 6:40 p.m. and patrol officers responded to reports of two separate individuals, who had been stabbed, in two different locations in the 200 block of Avenue R South. The two people injured, a 51-year-old woman and a 56-year-old man, were taken to hospital. Their injuries were considered non-life threatening.

Four people matching the descriptions given of the suspects were tracked down by a canine unit in the 100 block of Avenue V South.

The Saskatoon Police Service says there was a physical altercation with one of the suspects who refused to follow the officer’s commands and a second suspect allegedly tried to interfere by using a dog to threaten the police officer.

Two males aged 12 and 14, a 27-year-old man and a 17-year-old girl are facing two counts each of Aggravated Assault. The 12-year-old is also charged with Possession of a Dangerous Weapon (bear spray) and Carrying Concealed Weapon. The 27-year-old man faces an additional charge of Obstruction.
