On Saturday officers from Prince Albert Police Service arrested Waylon Nelson in Prince Albert. A warrant had been issued for the 25-year-old man after a woman was injured on Montreal Lake Cree Nation early Friday morning.
Around 5:20 a.m. RCMP say there was an altercation between two people and a gun was fired. The woman was treated in hospital for injuries described as serious.
As a result of continued police investigation by Waskesiu/Montreal Lake RCMP, Waylon Nelson of Montreal Lake Cree Nation was charged with one count, discharge firearm with intent. Nelson will be in court on this charge on Monday.
