Just before 5 Saturday afternoon, Regina Police responded to the intersection of 2nd Avenue North and Arthur Street for a report of a single motor vehicle accident involving two pedestrians.

In a news release, police say the early stages of the investigation indicates that a vehicle driving eastbound failed to stop for the pedestrians that were crossing northbound on 2nd Avenue.

The vehicle struck a 32 year-old woman and an 8 year-old boy. The 8 year-old was taken to hospital with serious but not life threatening injuries.

The woman declined medical treatment and the male driver was uninjured.
