Saskatoon Police are looking for tips from the public and have released a picture from security video in connection to the city’s 11th homicide of 2023 on December 14th, and there is video on the Police Service’s Facebook page.

Around 1:30 that morning, officers were told of an injured person in the back alley of the 2700 block of 21st Street West. They found a 33-year-old man who had been shot. He was transported to hospital, but he later died. Investigators say the victim was involved in a confrontation with an individual, but it doesn’t appear they knew each other. Another man with the 33-year-old wasn’t injured.

The person in the security video picture is wearing a dark jacket, light-coloured pants and dark shoes and was walking southbound on Witney Avenue towards 21st Street. Police believe the suspect entered a home in the area around 1:30 that morning. Anyone with information is asked to contact the police.
