Fuel card fraud investigation in Alberta, arrest in Saskatchewan

Earlier this year, in March, Lloydminster RCMP began an investigation after receiving a report of fraud involving a fuel card being stolen from a business in Lloydminster. RCMP determined that an individual used the fuel card to steal $57,969.55 worth of diesel fuel from throughout the province of Alberta and then sold the fuel at a discounted price.

As a result of the investigation, Kenton John Wotherspoon from Success, Saskatchewan is facing two dozen charges including Theft over and under $5,000; Unlawful Use of a Credit Card; and Trafficking in Stolen Property. Wotherspoon is back in court November 5th.
