Overtime and the Tigers – A Good Combination for a Blades Victory

The results would say that overtime and playing the Medicine Hat Tigers is good karma for the Saskatoon Blades.

Tyler Parr (pictured) scored at 1:22 of the fourth period Saturday night as the Bridge City Bunch out-lasted the Bengals 4-3, the 15th consecutive win, head-to-head, for the Blue and Gold over the Tigers. It was also the seventh straight victory for the Blades in Medicine Hat. Also, Saskatoon has now won four consecutive games that have ended in extra time. The Bridge City Bunch never trailed in the contest, but the Bengals kept battling back to tie each time the Blue and Gold scored…until Parr’s winner, his 10th goal of the season, converting a 2-on-1 pass from Rowan Calvert. Both Parr and Calvert finished with a goal and two assists while Ben Riche and Brandon Lisowsky each added a goal and a helper for 15-6-2 Saskatoon. Lisowsky’s goal was the 132nd of his career, moving him into solo ninth place on the Blades’ all-time goal-scoring list. In eighth spot with 133 goals is Hockey Hall-of-Famer Bernie Federko. The Bridge City Bunch out-shot the 13-11-1 Tigers 31-21. The Blue and Gold are off until next weekend when they are home to Lethbridge on Friday and Swift Current on Saturday.
